1.2.8 Alternative Supplier (Price Setter)

What is an Alternative Supplier?

If an item is registered in NOBB with the GTIN number assigned by the manufacturer, and another supplier attempts to register the same item, the item will be rejected by the system. This is a validation (automatic check) performed in NOBB, as the same GTIN number cannot exist for more than one NOBB number.

If a supplier sells another manufacturer’s items (already registered in NOBB) and wishes to register them in NOBB, the supplier must become an alternative supplier for the relevant item.

This allows multiple suppliers to deliver the same item to the market.

To become an alternative supplier, the supplier must contact Byggtjeneste and request access, providing the supplier’s details. Byggtjeneste will then notify the original supplier of the new alternative supplier.
