1.2.7 Country of Origin and Tariff Number

Country of Origin

The country of origin specifies where the last substantial processing of an item takes place during production. Last substantial processing means a process that is more than just repackaging, assembling items into sets, storing the item, or packaging it. More information can be found on the Customs website.
The country of origin is selected from a predefined list according to ISO Standard 3166-1.

Tariff Number

The tariff number specifies the import duties to be collected for each item.
The tariff is a reference work with item numbers and descriptions of goods. It is based on the international "Harmonized System Nomenclature," known as the HS nomenclature, which is used by most countries in the world. More information can be found on the Customs website.
