Number of layers on pallet
Number of layers on pallet must be registered for packaging with packaging type PAL, and will be mandatory in NOBB Supplier from March 2026. This field specifies how many layers of items are placed/stacked on the pallet.
In the example below, the pallet consists of 24 cartons, stacked in 6 layers. Number of layers on pallet should therefore be 6.

The system automatically checks that the ratio between the packaging’s “Consists of (number of items)” and the Number of layers on pallet is a whole number.
Exception for pallets with varying number of items per layer
If the pallet is stacked with a different number of items on each layer, you can tick the box “Layers on pallet is not relevant.” This applies, for example, when the top layer contains fewer packages, or when alternating layers have a different number of items.
Why this field is important
Number of layers on pallet is used in automated logistics processes. These data ensure optimal use of warehouse space and support accurate automated order picking.
