1.5.1 Price Comparison Unit
Suppliers with the same type of items in NOBB often use different price units, making it difficult to compare prices.
Therefore, a comparable unit is defined for different item categories. The unit that should be used for price comparison is specified for the various product groups in NOBB where it is relevant.
This is also common in other industries, such as grocery retail, where price per kilogram or liter is shown as a comparable price, for example, on shelf edges in stores.
The price comparison unit is also used in project calculations by providing conversion factors for relevant units.
If an item does not have a price unit or any other packaging that matches the price comparison unit for the relevant product group, the PSE conversion factor will show the relationship between the price unit and the price comparison unit. This factor is registered in a separate data field.
