Items with Possible Improvements ("Should Rules")
Items with possible improvements ("Should rules") are guidelines that help improve data quality without setting absolute requirements for information. The purpose is to give the user an overview of things that will make the item data more complete. "Should rules" contribute to a more proactive approach to item data, making it easier to follow best practices. This leads to better quality and usability in the long term.

Recommendations for an item are displayed as follows: hover over the orange triangle.
The item should have product benefits
Product benefits should describe the item’s unique advantages in a short and concise manner. You can register up to 5 product benefits per item. The maximum length is 45 characters. It is a good idea to start with an adjective to highlight the item’s features.
Examples:
Durable and easy to maintain
Easy to assemble
Environmentally friendly
User-friendly and efficient
Product benefits can be found under Market Information: Market Information
The item should have Digital Channel Text.
Digital Channel Text is intended for use in online stores targeting both consumers and professionals. Digital Channel Text should present the item's “name,” for example: “Oiled Decking Stain Drygolin Plus White 10L.”
Digital Channel Text combined with the field Dimension/Size together has a maximum length of 60 characters.
This is important information for users of NOBB data, and we recommend filling out this field.

The item should have an item or module description.
Module description applies to all items in a module, while Item Description is specific to the individual item and will override the module description. If a module description is added, no item description needs to be added at the item level. Any item description will override the information from the module.
Remember to focus on the item's benefits, features, and applications. Keep the text simple, short, and sales-oriented. Avoid technical and complicated descriptions. The maximum length is 800 characters. Use both uppercase and lowercase letters, and avoid special characters.

The item should have GWP data
GWP values show the emissions of greenhouse gases (CO2 equivalents) for different stages of a product's life cycle. GWP data is requested in the market, so a recommendation is displayed to register machine-readable GWP data for items where this is relevant.
You can read more about registering GWP data here: The process for NOBB environmental data
All D- and T-packages should have GTIN, dimensions, and weight
For a package with packaging class D- and T-pack to be marked as a “Complete Package,” the following data must be registered:
Height, length, width (millimeters)
Weight (kg)
GTIN
By adding this information to packages, it enables efficient handling and tracking of the item through the supply chain. A complete package is particularly important for the following reasons:
Logistics and product flow: With complete packaging information, the item can be handled and transported optimally.
Tracking and identification: The GTIN number ensures the unique identification of each individual package, facilitating tracking and goods receipt.
Efficient inventory management: Complete packaging information simplifies inventory management and picking of items.
End-user product information: The end-user will have access to complete information about the item's packaging.

Items with EPD document should have GWP data
If an item has an EPD document attached, it should also have EPD data registered.

The item should have an FDV document
This recommendation is shown on items that are in item groups that should have an FDV (Management, operation, and maintenance) document.
Recommendations for which items should have an FDV are based on the requirements of TEK17.
The item should have a Declaration of Performance (YTE) document
This recommendation is shown on items that are in item groups that should have a Declaration of Performance (YTE).
The recommendation is based on the requirement that a performance declaration is mandatory for items covered by a harmonized product standard (for more info, see https://www.dibk.no/).
