Rules for Registering GWP Values

In an EPD, it is important that emission values are machine-readable so they can be used in other systems. If the EPD is not available at EPD Norway, or if the AI system cannot read the data, the values must be registered manually. It is crucial to register them correctly.

The emission values are usually listed in a table within the EPD that looks like this:

Note: The numbers to be entered into the register are not the ones as shown in the table—they must be converted as follows:

A1-3.png

A suffix of +01 means the decimal point should be moved one place to the right.
Example: The value 44,8 should be entered in phase A1–A3 as 448.

A4.png

A suffix of +00 means the decimal point stays in place.
Example: The value 5,32 should be entered in phase A4 as 5,32.

C4.png

A suffix of -02 means the decimal point should be moved two places to the left.
Example: The value 0.057 should be entered in phase C4 as 0.00057.

D.png

If there is a minus sign (-) before the number, the value is negative and must be entered with the minus sign intact.
Example: The value -5.17 should be entered in phase D as -5.17.

There may be many positive and negative values, and the decimal point must be moved according to the suffix. Always check carefully for a “-” sign in front of the number.
