2.4 Module Information

Module

A module is a group of items that naturally belong together, are part of the same NOBB product group and ETIM class, and share the same manufacturer and brand name.

A module should contain items that can have the same module description, documentation, and possibly images, so that registration of individual items is simplified by inheriting this information from the module. This means you don't need to register the same details for each item. Instructions on how to create a module can be found under Create New Module.

Manufacturer

The manufacturer is the name of the entity that produces the item. The manufacturer is selected from a dropdown list of predefined values. If a manufacturer is missing, the supplier can contact the NOBB administration and request registration.

Brand Name (brand)

A brand name is a name that distinguishes an item from its competitors. The brand name is registered at the module level and is shared by all items associated with the module. The module can only have one brand name, selected from a dropdown list. If a brand name is missing, the supplier can contact the NOBB administration and request its registration.

Corporate Brand (Company Brand)

A corporate brand is the brand name of a company. Examples include Geberit, Isoflo, Coca Cola, Jotun, Jøtul, etc. The corporate brand is registered at the module level, similar to the brand name, and is shared by all items linked to the module. The module can only have one corporate brand registered, selected from a dropdown list. If a corporate brand is missing, the supplier can contact the NOBB administration and request its registration.
